When you sell tickets on Hipsy, we charge service fees per ticket and transaction fees per order. The following rates apply:
Per ticket: €0.80 service fee
Per order: €0.35 transaction fee
When someone places an order for one ticket, a total of €1.15 in service and transaction fees is charged. For an order with two tickets, this amounts to €1.95.
You can choose who bears the service fees:
- the participant/ticket buyer: the service fees are added to the ticket price.
- you as the organizer: the service fees are deducted from the ticket price when a ticket is purchased.
The standard transaction fee (€0.35) is always the responsibility of the person purchasing the ticket and is added to the total order amount.
Increased transaction fees for Paypal and Credit Card payments
For some payment methods, we charge increased transaction fees. These are as follows:
- Paypal: €0.35 + 6.1% of the total amount. (These extra costs are for the buyer)
- Personal Credit Card: €0.35 + 2% of the total amount.*
- Business Credit Card: €0.35 + 3.9% of the total amount.*
- Note! The extra transaction fees for credit cards cannot legally be passed on to the buyer, so these costs are charged to the event organization.
- Because this may unexpectedly incur extra costs for the organization, you can also disable credit card payments for your event. See the page: 'Why should you enable or disable credit card payments for your event?'
