If your event takes place in a different country than where your organization is based, different rules may apply regarding VAT. In many cases, you must pay VAT in the country where the event takes place. Therefore, make sure to consult your accountant about this.
Hipsy always gives you the option to choose a VAT rate that applies to your event. If your event takes place in a different country than where your organization is based, we provide you with the following options for selecting a VAT rate:
- VAT rates from the country of the event
- VAT rates from the country where your organization is based
VAT on Hipsy service fees
We also charge VAT on the service fees that Hipsy applies. For events organized by individuals, we pay VAT in the country where the event takes place. For businesses, we reverse the VAT if the organization is not based in the Netherlands.
