About this event

A full day with the Heart to Heart Massage method
Where massage becomes a sort of dance, a language spoken between two bodies.

This workshop is for you if you're new to giving massage treatments and curious where to begin,
or you've already followed some lessons and want to gain more confidence in this craft.

You will learn a new sequence that is easy to remember, easy to practise, and deeply relaxing to receive.
If you love receiving massage as much as giving it, you will feel at home.

You don’t need to bring a partner: we work in pairs and switch partners along the way, so you give and you receive.
And we welcome you to our growing community of givers.

Out of the head, into the body

In this workshop we step out of the thinking head and dive deep into somatic work: experiencing reality through the body's sensations. We tap into the flow state, where the thinking mind can find rest, and we can work from a more meditative state of mind, connected to a deeper collective wisdom we all hold.
I call it the higher self, or the field of the subconscious.
Here we don't need to know things.
We simply feel, and do what is needed.

The Heart to Heart method

Heart to Heart is unhurried, flowing massage, based on self-grounding, connecting from the heart and listening through the body. It grew out of holistic Swedish massage combined with sports massage and influenced by Thai massage and Lomi Lomi, and comes together in one simple, precise sequence that carries people into deep calm, in body and mind.
Working at a massage table lets us use standing postures and bodywork that don't wear us down.
Instead, they strengthen our own body while we serve the other.
In this workshop we work fully clothed and without oil.
Your own body stays comfortable while your hands learn new techniques.

Five fundamental techniques: anywhere, anytime

In this full-day workshop we break the Heart to Heart sequence down into five fundamental techniques: simple to remember, and ready to use anywhere, anytime. A whole day gives us time to practise each one in depth, link them into one flowing sequence, and receive personal feedback along the way.
Once you know them, you can give a deep, relaxing massage with confidence, and the more you practise, the better it becomes. No special room, no equipment, no oil: only your presence and the willingness to connect and help the other.
A simple, powerful way to bring comfort and compassion to the people around you, and to let healing energy flow through you.

What you'll learn

• Grounding and breath work — exercises drawn from Shadow Yoga and the martial arts that awaken your life force as a giver, with guided meditation and breath work

• Your body weight as a tool — how to stand, move and lean, using your forearms and elbows and a correct standing posture, so that deep work feels easy and natural

• Fascia and bone ironing — awakening the connective tissue, down to the deepest layers of muscle and ligament, where physical tension, and often emotional tension too, has been stored for years

• Simple anatomy — the basic layout of muscles, tendons and meridians, to support precise and confident work

• The belly, the body's second brain — principles of massaging the abdomen, the ribcage and the inner organs

• Your own energy — how to give safely and stay full, and how to disconnect and come back to your centre, so you finish a session with more energy and aliveness than you started with

• Consent and professional ethics — clear, caring boundaries for working with clients, or with someone you have only just met

We work in a small group, guided step by step.
Every touch begins with clear consent, and you're always free to pause, adjust or give feedback. You move at your own pace, giving and receiving in a calm, respectful space where nothing is expected of you except to be present.
