In these times of intense personal transformation, a good Sweatlodge is like honey to the Soul.

A sweat lodge is a like a natural church.. A low, round hut made of willow sticks and blankets where it is warm and dark inside. It represents the Cosmic Womb. A place to go deeply within and Remember.
This old ritual of Rebirth is the perfect place for song and prayer and retrieving a sense of connection beyond yourself. It is a place to let go and retrieve, forgive and remember and honour our Ancestors.

* De-centering and Connecting beyond
The sweat lodge is one of these accessible Rituals that helps to de-center. It takes the focus of your personal narrative and perceptions and helps you to push beyond that state. You sit in the dark with others, sweat, sing and clean yourself out. There is nothing complicated about it but this ritual may work on a deep level. The rebirth refers to a maturation process, a re-inventing yourself. This ritual is about allowing yourself to take a step forward into the unknown, guided by your own heart, not your head and ideas.

A sweat lodge is very helpful to clean out old wounds around your physical birth. For some the heart first needs to purge some old feelings, but many just go because they feel so good afterwards, clear and connected. A sweat lodge is a great help for when you need a boost of clarity coming from within.

This Temazcal will be hosted by Angelique Angel.
She has hosted Sweatlodges and Medicine ceremonies for over twenty years and is known for her in depth, no-nonsense style.
