No (partner) dance experience or partner needed!
Each party is introduced with a class, with focus on all levels of dancers.
𝟮𝟱 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (𝗦𝗺𝗼𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴) 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝗹 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲
Explore the blues pulse and grounded, relaxed ways of dancing to different styles of blues, with a focus on slower music. We'll experiment with partner connections, including closed hold and close embrace, and explore how to move beyond traditional blues into smoother, more flowing fusion.
With over 15 years exploring partner dancing, Paul brings a broad movement vocabulary to his dancing. His approach combines playfulness, musicality and mindful connection, drawing on influences from Blues, Lindy Hop, Tango, Contact Improvisation, and various latin dances along with being a musician.

- This is an alcohol-free event.
- Consent is key. Ask & respect a "no”.
- Everyone can invite each other (non-)verbally to dance a(nother) song.
- Check in with your dance partner: do you want to lead, follow or switch roles?
- Ask if your partner is comfortable with a close embrace, with lifts or dips.
- Does a dance feel uncomfortable? Be creative: how can I make it a pleasant/inspiring experience? Express your needs and boundaries. At any time you can end a dance.
- If someone felt uncomfortable in the interaction with you, listen attentively, give apologies if needed & learn from the experience.

I'm Lene Van Steenwinkel, a Dance/Movement Therapist & Anthropologist, who loves dancing with tribes/cultures all over the world, to explore the healing power of dance.
In 2018 I founded Kula Dance to create a conscious community in Ghent. I offer Embodied Dreamwork, Consensual Intimacy, Women Circles, Nature Connection & individual/group Dance/Movement Therapy. I discovered Fusion Dance at Burning Man & founded the Fusion Dance scene in Ghent!
