NVC and Authentic Relating Playground

About this event

"When you hung up on me, I felt hurt, lonely and confused, because I need respect, kindness and connection." I rehearse the script in my head using the standard NVC template, while what I really want is to yell, slam doors and, most importantly, prove myself right and win the argument.

How do we create space for it all?

In this first edition of our Playground, we'll explore how we can express the rawness of our emotions, acknowledge the judgements that arise in our minds, allow ourselves to be truly seen — and at the same time show up in a way that fosters connection rather than distance.

I am not going to give you any answers. Instead, you are invited to play, experiment and explore it for yourself through a series of exercises combining elements of Authentic Relating and Nonviolent Communication.

No previous experience or knowledge is required. Just you, being human.

𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐍𝐓
We'll start with a series of guided exercises to connect with ourselves and the group in the present moment, setting aside our stories and tuning into our feelings. Afterwards, we'll move into paired exercises to explore the emotions and judgements that arise in real-life situations, with curiosity, without rushing to fix anything. Using elements of NVC, we'll dive deeper into the needs underneath it all and explore different ways those needs could be met. We'll wrap up by coming back together as a group and reconnecting with the present moment.

• Please arrive on time. Doors close at 18:50.
• Once the workshop has started, it won't be possible to join.
• Limited to 14 participants. If you can't make it, please let us know so someone else can take your spot.
• Donation-based: contribute whatever feels right for you, depending on your financial situation.
• The end time may shift a little depending on the group's size.
• The content may evolve depending on who's in the room and what unfolds.
