Being (Juicy) Together

About this event

Being (queer bodies) together is a monthly evening of bodywork, sharing practices and simply, being together. Each evening has a theme which we explore together. You are encouraged to participate in the whole series, but are also welcome to join for one evening.

For our last session of this pilot project we invite you to explore the juiciness of our bodies. We dedicate this session to our (skeletal) muscles. Often when talking about muscle, we talk about strength, hardness and power. In this session we want to take you on a journey where we explore the elasticity, fullness and softness of our primary moving system.
Next to sensing their weight and expressiveness in movement we also spend some time in how to find rest from muscular activity.
To experience your muscles from a soft and juicy space join us massaging, kneeling, rolling, lifting, squeezing and melting into the heat of a summer evening.

The evenings are hosted by Lux Sauer (he/him) and Josje Fens (she/they). They both have a fascination for bodywork. Lux as a dancer, choreographer, somatic practitioner and student of Body-Mind Centering®, Josje as a massage therapist, teacher and student of Cranio Sacral Therapy.

Lux: „I am fascinated by how everything has its place and function in the body. There is no hierarchy or control system. But it is a huge collective collaboration with different responsibilities“

They have a desire to share their knowledge and connect with other queer people through somatic bodywork and movement. That is how these evenings came to life.

Josje: “I am fascinated by what your body tells you when you take the time, slow down and learn to listen to it. Letting these stories and feelings emerge is so beautiful.”
