About this event
## Contact Improvisation: The joyful art of falling and rising together.
This is a grounding and embodying experience, which helps mind and body come together in a playful manner. Through giving, and taking weight, rolling on the ground and eachother, we learn to move in surprising and fun ways. Dancing CI can feel like a combination of getting a massage, acrobatics, surfing, dancing, andd… flying?
CI is a movement practice that helps us break down habitual movement patterns, and instead create room for new and exciting ways to move, dance and play.
It is a way for us to be uniquely and unboundedly creative.
## Introduction - with Johannes & Ludo
How to make first contact?
In this introduction we will explore the space of first contact, the space of new beginnings. A space that can be exciting, scary, and full of potential. How do we get there? What are different ways to "get in touch"? Let's see how bringing awareness into this space can elevate our dances.
Because once we are really in touch with one another......
[Somewhere in the distant lands of the dance, there is this special place we sometimes find ourselves in, this place where we are so in tune and aligned with the other(s), the dance seems to just unfold by itself. No leader, no follower, no trying, it all just happens. No one knows for sure the path to get there, but all can agree: It starts with first contact]

## For you?
- You want to be more in the body
- You like to play
- You like to explore new ways to move
- Contact makes you happy (and perhaps shy?)
- Especially for you if you are curious but also a bit afraid
- And for all of us who just can't get enough of somatic research through dancing!
For all movers, beginning or advanced. You don’t have to have the “skills” to dance contact improvisation.
## Contribution
A contribution of € 10-20 is asked for participating in this event. By contributing you support the continuation and growth of this jam and community. (Also, we do pay rent)
## Finally
CI can be seen as a form of art, it is about body research, and play, in a non-sexual way. Although those feelings are super welcome to rise and fall, we are not engaging in them. If your intention is to "pick up" or hookup: this is not the place my dear.
## About Johannes
Johannes Karst is an interdisciplinary performer, composer, improviser and facilitator
## About Ludo
I love studying nature, the body and the mind through movement and meditation, and I'm especially fascinated by all that seems to happen "by itself". Currently studying craniosacral therapy, CI & somatics, (and I simply cannot resist sharing what I learn in my own way.)
With these jams I hope we can bring more people in touch with the wonderful practice of contact improvisation. As it is greatly transforming the way I see and experience life, I wish it can do the same for you.
