The Exploring Kink Series is a range of workshops designed to invite you to (deepen your) play with kink and BDSM aspects. Exploring Kink is a way to add spice, depth, and presence to all your relationships. In these workshops, we combine principles of consent and (neo-)tantra with the magical realms of kink.
The Exploring Kink series consists of these workshops that can be taken as a series or stand-alone workshops:
- 'Foundations'. Beginner-friendly with a focus on the basics of power dynamics, basics of impact play, and setting up a scene.
- 'Deepening D/s Dynamics'. Diving into the nuances of power play and the different qualities of those. Relatively beginner-friendly, but some experience (like Foundations) is recommended.
- 'Edges'. Bringing forms of edgy play like breathplay and consensual non-consent into your play. Not for beginners (at least one of these three recommended: Foundations, Deepening D/s dynamics, or Kinky Tantra).
- 'Therapeutic Kink': using BDSM and kink for healing and transformative processes. Not for beginners (at least one of these three recommended: Foundations, Deepening D/s dynamics, or Kinky Tantra).
** EXPLORING KINK: DEEPENING D/S DYNAMICS **
In this two-day workshop, we will play with D/s dynamics. Playing with the polarity of Domination and submission can create a powerful space for pleasure, exploration, discovery, and healing. This workshop is designed to play with different flavors of this dynamic. Think of:
- D/s for the pleasure of the Dominant
- D/s for the journey of the submissive
- topping from the bottom
- different flavors of play, from bitchy, to playful, to being a princess (m/f/x)
- different forms of leading
- how submission is an active role, more than being a passive follower
- setting up a ritual space for a scene
Discover the wide variety of nuances and what they can bring to your play!
* This workshop does not focus on teaching impact play (Exploring Kink: Foundations does!), but may include it if that supports your journey and you know the basics. If you have never done impact play before, refrain from doing that in this workshop!
WHAT THE EVENT LOOKS LIKE
On day one, we will warm up with shorter exercises to dust off our skills, get on the same page around safe words, and safer play. The rest of the day consists of several rounds of play in different dynamics, and sharing circles (where we share about the experiences we just had) in between to unpack experiences and geek out on D/s dynamics.
Day two starts with a sharing circle (in which we share about our personal journeys) and moves on to more rounds of play. Towards the end of the weekend, there is a (shorter) play party or free flow. This part of the program is meant as a designated time for you to choose your experience: practice what you have learned, meditate, massage, cuddle, journal, you name it.
Towards the end of the weekend, there is a (short) play party or free flow. This part of the program is meant as a designated time for you to choose your experience: practice what you have learned, meditate, massage, cuddle, journal, you name it.
As a reminder: this weekend assumes you have experience with kink, you are comfortable in spaces where nudity and sexuality are present in the room, and you have experience with communicating your needs, boundaries, and desires in such spaces.
This is a RED event. Although impact play and sexuality are not part of the teachings of this weekend, they are allowed when they support the scenes and all involved in that scene consent to the activity. We will provide tools, toys, and products to accommodate this. At no point during this weekend you are required or pushed to be naked or sexual. You can participate in the full weekend while being dressed and without touching anyone. We do ask you to be comfortable with nudity and sexuality in the room.
There is a team with two experienced assistants to support the group. You are never pushed or expected to be part of scenes. Witnessing is a perfectly valid participation.
FOR WHO IS THIS WEEKEND?
❗For this workshop, we recommend at least some experience with kink and Wilrieke’s way of teaching, e.g. through Exploring Kink: Foundations, Edges, and/or Kinky Tantra.
All our workshops are queer-centered and straight-friendly. That means, to us, that our workshops embrace diversity beyond the traditional cisgender, straight, slender, able, neurotypical, or young body.
This event welcomes folks from all walks of life. We are LGBTQIIA+ informed (Wilrieke and most of their team identify as such), slut-friendly, trauma-informed, and non-monogamy informed. White folks are overrepresented in our team and life experiences are coloured through that lens. We do come from different social backgrounds and have different life experiences when it comes to health, wealth, neurodiversity, gender, sexual orientation, etc.
We welcome folks with disabilities. We can adapt exercises so that they fit you. Where we can we will support you. If you have a person/animal that supports you in daily activities that you need to bring for your care, they can of course come with you without buying a ticket. Please reach out if you have special needs, and we will discuss how we can support you. In case we cannot comfort your needs, we will honestly let you know.
You can come alone (many people do), with your partner/s or friend/s. If you come with a partner you are welcome to stay together for the whole workshop, or play with others too.
