We facilitate Ecstatic Dance, concerts and dance related events in Maastricht!
Welcome to Ecstatic Dance Maastricht,
Ecstatic Dance is a free form of dance-workout, very pure and simple and therefore so powerful and transforming. To create a save and sacred environment we follow a few basic but important guidelines.
We commit ourselves to:
* No speaking or communicating in spoken language, the entire room is a non-speaking area,
* We dance and move barefoot in our own unique way,
* We respect ourselves and others without the use of alcohol or drugs.
Our beloved venue “Het Ruweel” is making it possible for us to fully grow our roots in Maastricht.
At our dance floor there is only one thing we strive for and that is creating and holding an OPEN space.
We facilitate a dance journey where everything is welcome and you are free to shape your own experience in a way that feels good for you in the moment. During the opening we will gently invite and inspire you without forcing you into any direction. You are always free to follow your own flow.
It can be high, it can be deep, it can be a workout, it can be spiritual practice or an exploration of you inner landscape, it can be an emotional release or simply a crazy passionate dance. Everything and everyone is welcome, the light the dark and everything in between… the full spectrum of life itself!
This is also reflected in the gifted DJ’s I choose to work with who all in their unique way embody this vision such as DJ Yarun Dee, Sefrijn, Kareem Raïhani, Caroline S'Jegers, de Nachtpapegaai, Jethro, Martyn Zij and others.
A strong, dedicated and experienced team of spaceholders are building up and taking care of both the physical and energetic space. We make sure the ED guidelines are respected and create a warm atmosphere where everyone feels as safe as possible to express themselves in the most authentic way.
In our approach Ecstatic Dance is initially an inner journey where dancing together is an option and even encouraged but not a goal in itself. You might be lucky to meet the love of your life but we make it very clear that our dancefloor is not a hunting ground. We will do what is necessary to take care of a safe space for everyone where we move from a place of integrity, respect and mutual consent.
This all might feel a bit strict but I deeply believe in the value of a clear and steady fundament and how this truly makes the difference.
