Join us on a virtual journey through the lands of metaphor and wonder.
Perhaps you want to tell stories with your family, students or clients. Or maybe you long for a fresh perspective on personal, cultural and societal narratives. We welcome anyone who wants to deepen their relationship with the animate world of stories.
Our lens is the connection between the stories we live and the stories we tell. Our offer to you is a low-stakes environment where you can practice the art of storytelling. We love what we do and hope that you will too!
What we will explore:
In this course we craft and learn from the stories that express who we are and how we relate to our world. We will explore what our life looks, smells, moves, feels, and sounds like.
Where do stories come alive?
Who do we meet along the way?
And how do we respond to what we encounter?
The art of storytelling allows us to learn more about our place in the universe. We will travel with and beyond heroes, forests and monsters. Together, we sail the stream of memories from past, present, and dream worlds. This takes us off the well-trodden path, away from the Hero's Journey.
The weekly themes are:
1. The Gift of Names
2. Listening & Guiding
3. Objects & Objectives
4. Heroes & Helpers
5. Forests of Transformation
6. Hopes & Dreams
What will happen during the course?
This course encourages you to follow your curiosity. Throughout six sessions of you will experience the continuous flow of weaving and being woven into each other's narratives.
The weekly themes are carefully crafted combining:
* story prompts;
* collaborative improv games;
* gentle movement activities;
* guided meditation practices;
* shared inquiry and personal reflection;
* inspiration from books, film, music;
* and much more....
Each session is fully participatory and experiential in big groups and small breakout rooms. We engage in playful non-competitive activities designed to facilitate co-creation. You will be invited to listen, play and share spontaneously from your heart and imagination.
What will participants receive?
+ 6 x 1.5h live Zoom sessions.
+ 6 x PDF post session theme recommendations.
+ Connection to a vibrant international group of participants.
+ Options to book additional 1-2-1 calls with Angelina Castellini.
+ Opportunities to join future cohorts and catch up on missed sessions.
In the words of one of our course participants:
"The content is well curated, the sessions are skilfully facilitated, and it is both stimulating and creativity-provoking to spend time online in the company of a fascinating group of people, all engaging with story in their unique ways."
What happens after this 6 week course?
After completing the initial 6 sessions of this course, participants will be invited to join the next course Chapter. The topics are revealed during session 5 and will soon also be announced publicly.
The learning does not end after the course. We are currently working to build a long-term study programme.
Who is this course for?
This Living Stories course is built for people who want to hone their storytelling skills. Whether you (want to learn how to) speak, write, play or perform, we will gently guide you as you navigate narrative territory.
The course has deep relevance and immediate applicability for professional listeners such as therapists, psychologists, coaches and carers. It provides direct inspiration for professional storytellers such as public speakers, writers, artists and performers. Meanwhile, educators, community builders, book nerds and general knowledge seekers will all find something to write home about.
If you believe that you've never told a 'good' story before or haven't the slightest clue where to begin to tell a tale, this is a great place to start. And if you're a seasoned storyteller, you know there's always another path yet to be discovered.
There is no story that ends all stories. This is the beginning of a new one...
