De eerste ED avond na ons Winter Festival van 3 januari jl. Dit gaat weer een bijzondere avond worden, waarin Léon Beckx ons meeneemt in een prachtige voorbereidende workshop 'The Edge of Contact', en daarna ons een dansreis laat ervaring met zijn brede repertoir van muziek.

Over de workshop The Edge of Contact:
Samen dansen kan enerverend zijn, maar soms ook uitdagend. Hoe blijf je bij jezelf terwijl je danst met een ander? Hoe kan fysiek contact op een natuurlijke manier onderdeel worden van een partnerdans, zonder het te forceren? En, hoe speel je met de subtiele wisselwerking tussen leiden en volgen, geven en ontvangen?

In de workshop _The Edge of Contact_ duiken we in deze vragen en spelen we met de balans tussen verbinding en autonomie - de dans tussen ‘ik’ en ‘wij’. Door middel van speelse oefeningen, lichaamsbewustzijn en improvisatie ontdekken we hoe je je tegelijk vrij en verbonden kunt voelen in een partnerdans.

Of je je nou onzeker voelt in contact, nieuwsgierig bent naar nieuwe bewegingsmogelijkheden, of juist al vol overgave geniet van samen dansen: iedereen is welkom! Ervaring is niet nodig, alleen een open houding en zin om te bewegen.



Over DJ Léon:
Léon beweegt zich op het snijvlak van dans en psychologie. Hij werd in 2008 opgeleid tot 5Ritmes dansdocent en specialiseerde zich daarna in dans- en contactimprovisatie, somatics en theater. Léon is ceremonieleider en DJ voor Ecstatic Dance en is een van de oprichters van Heart of the Dance, een organisatie die movement facilitators en DJ’s opleidt. Daarbij is Léon psycholoog en trainer / facilitator. In al zijn werk weet Léon vaak op een luchtige manier diepgang te creëren, en zoekt hij naar momenten waarop we onze eigen kaders kunnen ontstijgen.



We dansen op blote voeten, zonder middelen (alcohol, drugs, koffie), in onze eigen energie en met respect voor elkaar in afstemming.

De locatie is schoenenvrij. Neem warme sokken mee voor buiten de danszaal.
Er is gratis kruidenthee en water met natuurlijke smaakjes. Neem je eigen waterfles mee en mok voor thee.

Ons gebouw herken je aan de vlaggen bij de ingang (straatzijde). Ons gebouw ligt op de kruising met de Goudvinklaan. Bushalte schuin voor de deur.

'Workshop The Edge of Contact'
Dancing together can be exciting, but sometimes also challenging. How do you stay true to yourself while dancing with someone else? How can physical contact become part of a partner dance in a natural way, without forcing it? And how do you play with the subtle interplay between leading and following, giving and receiving?

In the workshop 'The Edge of Contact' we delve into these questions and play with the balance between connection and autonomy - the dance between 'I' and 'we'. Through playful exercises, body awareness and improvisation we discover how you can feel free and connected at the same time in a partner dance.

Whether you feel insecure in contact, are curious about new movement possibilities, or already enjoy dancing together with great dedication: everyone is welcome! Experience is not necessary, just an open attitude and a desire to move.

About Léon:
Léon moves at the intersection of dance and psychology. He was trained as a 5Rhythms dance teacher in 2008 and then specialized in dance and contact improvisation, somatics and theater. Léon is a ceremony leader and DJ for Ecstatic Dance and is one of the founders of Heart of the Dance, an organization that trains movement facilitators and DJs. Léon is also a psychologist and trainer / facilitator. In all his work, Léon often knows how to create depth in a light-hearted way, and he looks for moments in which we can transcend our own frameworks.


We dance barefoot, without words, in our own energy (without drugs/alcohol/coffee) and with respect for each other. Clothes stay on. No photos/films/no phones in the ballroom.
Bring your own lockable bottle for the dancefloor (no cups in the dance space). There is free herbal tea and water with natural flavors.
The entire location is shoe-free. Bring warm socks, for outside the dance space.

Parking space diagonally opposite the building on the other side of the street or in the area (free); do not park on the grounds of GGZ Rivierlanden. Our entrance is coloured with two Safe Haven flags.
